2. Unfortunately, yes. If elected I am willing to sponser legislation to add sexual orien-
tation to the civil rights law of Ohio to prohibit such discrimination. Further, I am willing to sponser legislation requiring all employers who contract with the State of Ohio, including those located outside of Ohio, to adopt a written equal employment opportunity policy prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation.

As a Blendon Township trustee, Cox has worked to build a stronger community by bringing the DARE anti-drug program to schools in Blendon Township, obtaining an $834,250 state grant to correct dangerous road conditions, initiating the establishment of nature preserves in Blendon Township, and successfully pushing PUCO for water clean-up.
Cox's husband, Samuel F. Cox, is a captain and 16-year veteran of the Columbus Fire Department. They have two children, Kathleen and Angela.

She is a graduate of Eastmoor High School and attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and the Ohio State University majoring in Political Science. Tavares is married to Michael A. Tavares and resides on the east side of Columbus.
